Introduction of Turkish low-cost technology in Pakistan discussed
Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Turkish Embassy
in Islamabad will initiate measures for introducing Turkish low cost technology
in Pakistan to benefit common man.
H.E. Sadik Babür Girgin, Ambassador of Turkey called on Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf,
Chairman PSF at the latter’s office on May 27, 2015. Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, PSF’s
Focal Person for International Linkages and Dr. Lal Sahah, Principal Scientific
Officer PSF were also present on this occasion.
Dr. Ashraf apprised
the Ambassador about his visit to Turkey and meetings with heads of The Scientific
and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and Turkish International
Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). As a follow-up of these meetings, he
said that PSF has sent three names of eminent scientists for the Steering Committee
to implement the (MoU) of scientific collaboration between PSF and TUBITAK. Dr.
Ashraf said that the names from Turkish side are being awaited. He also apprised
the Ambassador about a follow-up meeting with officials of TIKA Pakistan office
and progress on bio-geyser manufacturing project, which is a society-based service
project.
Matters pertaining to geo-thermal project in Gilgit-Baltistan, low-cost mud-houses
and solar geyser technology etc were also discussed.
H.E. Sadik Babür Girgin, showed his eagerness to initiate Pak-Turkish joint scientific
projects and assured the PSF Chairman that he would extend his full support in developing
and strengthening the science and technology linkages between the two brotherly
countries.
