International Liaison
PSF was established in 1973 through an Act of the Parliament, as an Autonomous Organization for Funding and Promotion of scientific research having bearing on socio-economic development of the country. As per PSF mandate, the mandate of IL Wing is to “Establish liaison with similar bodies in other countries”. In pursuance of the mandate, IL Wing was established in 2015.
PSF regularly seeks cooperation of global counterpart organizations for the betterment of science and technology in the country. The major areas of cooperation are:
- Joint R&D research projects: in top of the line areas of science and technology.
- Exchange of scientists, researchers, experts, S&T managers: and scientific information through Joint R&D projects.
- Training of scientists, researchers, experts and S&T managers: for their capacity building other than R&D.
PSF, over the years, has established its relations with counterpart organizations in China, Turkiye, Iran and Sri Lanka, and SCO Member States.
