About Research Funding

To advance basic and applied research that supports the socio-economic development of the country, the Research Support Programme plays a vital role by providing financial assistance to universities and R&D organizations. The Programme supports research across ten disciplines of science and technology: Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics & Computer Sciences, Health Sciences, and Physics. PSF offers research grants for projects carried out by individual scientists or research groups within these institutions. Over the years, the Foundation has built a robust infrastructure to efficiently support and manage these research initiatives.

Since its inception, the Research Support Programme has funded 964 research projects across diverse fields of science and technology, leading to the following outcomes:

How to Submit Your Proposal

The Pakistan Science Foundation accepts concept papers electronically through the Research Grant Management System (RGMS), an online portal available at RGMS. Both the concept paper and the full-length proposal must be submitted via RGMS.
