Organizational Structure of PSF

The Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) functions under the Board of Trustees, the highest authority responsible for overall direction and policy guidance. The Board comprises eminent scientists and experts in science and technology and provides strategic oversight for national scientific development.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee, led by the Chairman and supported by whole-time members (Member Science and Member Finance), manages day-to-day operations and ensures implementation of decisions taken by the Board.

Wings / Sections

PSF’s operations are structured into multiple wings and programs, each responsible for core areas of its mandate:

  • Research Support: The research support programme aims to promote scientific research and innovation by providing funding to universities and R&D organisations.
  • Science Popularization: Oversees public engagement activities including Science Caravans, science fairs, clubs, mobile labs, and planetaria to enhance scientific awareness.
  • International Linkages: Handles collaborations, MoUs, partnerships with international bodies, and information-sharing with local and global scientific communities.
  • Natural Science Linkages Programme (NSLP): Focuses on strengthening research in natural sciences and coordinating related national programs and cooperation.
  • Planning & Development: Acts as the coordinating point between PSF, its subsidiaries (PASTIC, PMNH), and the Ministry of Science & Technology; responsible for project planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Admin & Finance: Responsible for HR, financial administration, internal management, grants disbursement, and overall organizational operations.

Through this structured governance model, PSF ensures transparency, efficiency, and meaningful contribution to the advancement of science and innovation in Pakistan.

NSLP Endowment Fund Structure

  • PSF administers the NSLP Endowment Fund.
  • The Board of Governors oversees policy and approval of major projects.
  • The Fund Management Committee (FMC) manages financial and administrative operations and approves smaller initiatives.
  • The Chairman of PSF serves as the Chief Executive of the Fund.
  • Project monitoring includes technical and financial reporting, expert evaluations, and site inspections.
