Subsidiary Organizations
PSF oversees the following two subsidiary organizations.
Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH)
PMNH, established in 1976 under PSF, is the national institution for preserving and showcasing Pakistan’s natural heritage. It houses extensive collections of plants, animals, minerals, and fossils, and supports research in biological and earth sciences. Through its public galleries, exhibits, educational programs, and outreach activities, PMNH plays a major role in promoting environmental awareness and science education among students and the general public.
Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC)
PASTIC is the national hub for scientific and technological information. It provides researchers with full-text documents, databases, patent information, bibliographic services, and reprographic/printing facilities. With a national center in Islamabad and six regional sub-centers, PASTIC supports research and innovation by ensuring access to scientific literature, strengthening information networks, and offering training for students and professionals.
Together, PSF and its subsidiaries play a pivotal role in advancing science, fostering innovation, and building a knowledge-based society in Pakistan.
