NSLP Project Funding Process

Concept papers are periodically solicited on issues of national importance within designated priority areas. All researchers seeking funding must first submit a concept paper to the NSLP. Only those concept papers that successfully pass the initial screening will be invited to develop and submit a full-length proposal.

Concept papers must be submitted through the online PSF Research Grant Management System (RGMS). All proposals undergo an initial review at PSF, where the Foundation engages distinguished scientists from across the country to evaluate the submissions. Proposals endorsed by these subject experts are then presented to the PSF Technical Committee for further assessment and recommendations.

The Technical Committee serves as the highest decision-making body for recommending approval or rejection of proposals. Project budgets up to Rs. 8.00 million, once recommended by the Committee, are approved by the FMC. Projects requiring budgets exceeding Rs. 8.00 million are forwarded for approval to the Board of Governors (BoG).
