Distribution of Scientific Literature

Donating popular science magazines and scientific books is one of the cornerstone activities of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) in its mission to enhance science awareness across the country. Recognizing that access to quality scientific reading material is essential for nurturing curiosity and improving scientific literacy, PSF regularly distributes well-designed, reader-friendly publications to educational institutions and science centers. These resources help introduce students to new discoveries, technological advancements, environmental issues, and the broader impact of science on society in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.

A major part of this effort is the distribution of Monthly Global Science, a widely read popular science magazine that covers a broad range of scientific topics in simple language, making it accessible to young readers and general audiences. Alongside this, PSF also provides the Urdu Science Magazine, published quarterly, which plays an important role in making scientific knowledge available in the national language. By offering science content in Urdu, PSF ensures that students in public schools, rural areas, and Urdu-medium institutions—who may not have strong English backgrounds—can still enjoy and learn from high-quality science material. Together, these magazines are distributed to more than 1,500 schools across Pakistan, helping to cultivate a habit of scientific reading among thousands of students.

PSF also supports knowledge-sharing among science institutions by providing The Fountain, a respected international science magazine published by The Light Publishing, Turkey. Copies of this journal are supplied to Science Caravan offices, PASTIC, and the Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH). This distribution ensures that staff, researchers, educators, and visitors in these institutions remain updated with global scientific perspectives and contemporary ideas. Through such targeted outreach, PSF strengthens the availability of quality scientific literature beyond schools, reaching broader scientific communities and public audiences.

Overall, these efforts to donate science magazines and books significantly enrich the scientific environment in Pakistan. By making engaging and accessible scientific content widely available, PSF promotes a culture of lifelong learning, encourages young minds to explore scientific fields, and supports its broader mission of building a scientifically informed society.
