Science Caravan Faisalabad Unit

The Faisalabad Unit operates similarly to the other Caravan units: it travels to different schools, setting up mobile exhibitions that include working scientific models (from physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and information technology), lab-equipment for demonstrations and experiments, multimedia presentations, and even a portable planetarium or “star-lab” for astronomy education.

Over the years, the Faisalabad Unit has held multiple exhibitions and planetarium shows across various towns and districts. For instance, in 2017 it arranged exhibitions in places such as Tehsil 18 Hazari (District Jhang) and in District Gujrat, drawing thousands of students. In another example, in May 2016 the unit arranged a science exhibition for a high school in Sheikhupura, which was visited by about 3,000 students and 50 teachers.

In addition to travelling exhibitions, the Faisalabad Unit is connected with a permanent facility: the PSF Science Centre Faisalabad. This center — established in the year 2000 — hosts a variety of exhibits in natural history, biology, chemistry, physics, geology, and computer science, aiming to deepen public awareness about science and technology, supplement school teaching, and encourage interest in science among secondary and higher-secondary students.
