Linkage with Bulgaria
Online Meeting between Pakistan Science Foundation(PSF) And Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS)
PSF seeks S&T cooperation with Balgaria through Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), which is the biggest research organization in Bulgaria. BAS was established in 1869 was the oldest institution for promotion of science in Bulgaria and is the leading scientific centre, which promotes/conducts research, training and dissemination activities and provides expertise of national and international importance related to the Bulgarian society and state. In this regard, an online meeting was held on 16th March, 2022 to discuss the possible areas of joint scientific exchange and activities under the Chair of Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig, Chairman, PSF. Dr. Ahsan Feroze, Director-IL alongwith officers of IL wing also attended the meeting.
After detailed discussion, the chairs from both sides found many similarities in many of the core functions of both organizations. Both sides mutually showed their consent to undertake the following steps to strengthen the bilateral ties between PSF and BAS.
- Both organizations agreed to initiate Joint Plan for Scientific Exchange, and the modalities of the proposed exchange programme shall be mutually finalized through electronic exchange in the middle of the year, 2022.
- Both sides are ready to organize joint scientific seminars, conferences, symposia, meetings and workshops in near future.
- Joint R&D projects will also be initiated on mutually agreed areas after discussion.
